GTEC Junior Rugby Update

Hi all,

This will be our final newsletter for the year, and it’s a great chance to pause and reflect on everything we’ve done together in 2025. It’s been an awesome year for GTEC Juniors  Thank you to everyone who has played a part in making this such a special place to be.

We’re excited to share that we’ve partnered with Auckland Council to support their Christmas celebration, Carols on the Green. We’ll be running a small activity space as part of their wider event, and it’s an open invite to all families. Things kick off from 5:00pm on Saturday 6th December, down at the Vellenoweth Bowling Green.

The following day, Sunday 7th December, we’re honored to host an end-of-year celebration for the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring organization. It’s a privilege to be included in such a meaningful day for an incredible program. If you’d like to learn more about the work they do, click the button below.

And lastly, our own Christmas in the Park is just around the corner, Sunday 14th December, 4:00pm–5:30pm at Grammar TEC Rugby Club, Orākei Domain.

It’s shaping up to be a really fun afternoon with food trucks, Mr Whippy, games, backyard cricket, touch rugby, and a Christmas movie to wrap things up.

We’ve set up a Facebook Event for the day. If you’re planning on coming along, please mark yourself as “Going.” This helps us gauge numbers ahead of time. If we don’t receive enough responses to make it a worthwhile experience for everyone, we may look at postponing — so your RSVP really does make a difference. GTEC Christmas in The Park

GTEC Christmas in the Park – Sunday 14 December, 4:00pm–5:30pm
Location: Grammar TEC Rugby Club, Ōrākei Domain

Join us for an afternoon of festive fun at GTEC Christmas in the Park. We’ll have Mr Whippy, a Food Truck, and a Bouncy Castle, plus plenty of activities including Backyard Cricket, Touch Rugby for the kids. We’ll round off the event with a Christmas movie, giving everyone a chance to wind down and enjoy the evening together.

Bring the whānau, roll out a picnic rug, and enjoy a relaxed summer evening together.

Grade Coordinator

As mentioned previously, we are implementing a new structure, which involves the use of ‘Grade Coordinators’. One person for each grade across GTEC Juniors and Carlton Juniors, assisting in the retention of current player base, and club cultures.
